During the PATA Annual Summit 2024, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) bestowed prestigious awards upon three outstanding tourism professionals and industry leaders. Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media Pte Ltd, received the PATA Life Membership, the Association’s highest individual honor, in recognition of his exceptional leadership and dedication to PATA. Ng has held significant positions across various committees and associations within the travel and tourism industry, including serving as Chairman of the PATA Singapore Chapter from 2008 to 2016 and currently acting as an Advisor to the Chapter. His extensive involvement with PATA includes roles as an Industry Council Member, Proxy Member, and Board Member between 1990 and 2023. He currently serves on PATA’s Supervisory Board.
Elizabeth M. Chin, Executive Director of the PATA New York Chapter, was presented with the PATA Award of Merit in recognition of her longstanding contributions to PATA and the chapter network. Chin has significantly contributed to the success of the PATA New York Chapter and supported various Association initiatives. She began her career as a corporate auditor and accumulated over 25 years of diverse experience across industries such as food service and entertainment.
Mayur Patel, Head of Asia at OAG, was honored with the PATA Chairman’s Award for his support, loyalty, and dedication during his tenure. Patel oversees business development and leads the sales organization in the region. Before joining OAG, he headed Regional Sales for ASPAC, the Middle East, and North Africa at Amadeus, focusing on Travel Intelligence.
In addition to these awards, PATA also recognized the appointment of Soon-Hwa Wong as the PATA Ambassador for Greater China. Wong represents PATA in the region, promoting collaboration among stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry and enhancing PATA’s presence in Greater China. With over 40 years of experience in Asia Pacific travel and tourism, Wong is a seasoned senior business leader and the Immediate Past Chair of PATA.
