Port in the City 2024: Discover the Port of Montreal This Summer!

The Port of Montreal is excited to announce the return of its annual “Port in the City” event, kicking off on May 24 and running until September 14. This popular program provides an opportunity for the public to engage with the Port and learn about its activities.

The centerpiece of the event is a traveling information container that will be located at various locations throughout the summer, including the Grand Quay and public events across Montreal. Visitors to the container can immerse themselves in a logistics-themed game, discover fascinating facts about port operations, indulge in complimentary treats, and enter a contest to win a cruise.

New for 2024, the container will be open daily from noon to 5 p.m. at the Grand Quay, located on the Main Alley near the Croisières AML ticket office. This extended accessibility will allow more visitors to explore the container and learn about the Port.

In addition to the container, the “Port in the City” event will also feature free guided bus tours of a container terminal. These tours will take place during the Branle-Bas d’Hochelaga and Back-to-School Sidewalk Sale events. To register for a tour, visit the “Port in the City” container at the corner of Cuvillier and Ontario East. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.

The Port of Montreal is committed to engaging with the community and showcasing the vital role it plays in the city’s economy. The “Port in the City” event is an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors alike to explore the Port’s facilities, learn about its operations, and connect with the maritime industry.
