In a strategic move to enhance its tourism sector, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has launched the Saudi Summer Program 2024 under the theme “Saudi Summer is Next Door.” Running for four months until the end of September, this program will focus on seven key destinations, offering over 550 tourism products and more than 150 special offers and packages tailored for families and children.
The program will feature destinations such as Aseer, Al Baha, Taif, the Red Sea, Jeddah, Riyadh, and AlUla. Notable highlights include the return of the Jeddah Season and the introduction of the Aseer Season. These events are designed to showcase the unique cultural, natural, and climatic diversity of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has scheduled several major events under the Saudi Summer Program 2024. These events are expected to attract a significant number of tourists, further boosting the Kingdom’s tourism sector.
During the program’s launch, Ahmed Al Khateeb, the minister of tourism and chairman of the board of directors of the STA, highlighted the rapid growth in Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia is leading global tourism trends, topping the UN World Tourism list and the G20 nations list.
“Saudi Arabia is undergoing a transformative period in tourism, driven by our vision to establish the Kingdom as a premier global destination. The Saudi Summer Program 2024 underscores our commitment to showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and unmatched hospitality,” Al Khateeb stated.
Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of STA, emphasized the promotional campaign’s goal to highlight the unique aspects of Saudi destinations and the variety of exceptional events and activities available during the summer.
The launch of the Saudi Summer Program 2024 coincides with efforts to streamline visa services, making travel to Saudi Arabia more accessible. The introduction of the eVisa, now available to citizens of 66 countries, has made obtaining a Saudi visa 20 percent less expensive. Additionally, the number of weekly flights from Gulf cities to Saudi summer destinations has increased to 1,100, allowing Gulf residents to easily visit the country and use the GCC residents’ visa for stays of up to 90 days.
To accommodate the expected influx of tourists, Saudi Arabia has significantly increased its hotel capacity. This year, an additional 25,000 hotel rooms are expected to be available, providing more options for travelers.
