Netflix Reveals Most-Watched Shows and Movies in Q4 2023

The study reveals that the most-watched movie on Netflix in the second half of 2023 was ‘Leave the World Behind’, which registered an impressive 121 million views. The Sam Esmail-directed apocalyptic thriller became the streamer’s fifth most popular movie of all time. Other popular movies included ‘Heart of Stone’ starring Gal Gadot (109.6 million views), ‘Leo’ (96 million views), ‘Nowhere’ (86.2 million views), and ‘The Out-Laws’ (83.8 million views).

On the TV side, the live-action adaptation of the popular manga series ‘One Piece’ dominated with 71.6 million views, making it the most-watched TV show on Netflix during the period. Other popular TV shows included the German thriller ‘Dear Child’ (52.5 million views), the British thriller ‘Who Is Erin Carter?’ (50.1 million views), ‘Lupin’ part 3 (49.7 million views), and ‘The Witcher’ season 3 (47.9 million views).

Netflix originals also performed well, with ‘Wednesday’ garnering 98 million views, ‘Red Notice’ reaching 62 million views, and ‘Squid Game’ continuing its success with 25 million views. Overall, Netflix users watched 183 billion hours of content in 2023, with 90 billion hours in the second half alone.
