According to David Axiotis, Messe Berlin GmbH’s Vice President for the China market, the Chinese travel market has exhibited a positive growth trajectory since 2023. The impact of improved visa policies and increased flight capacity has contributed to this growth, particularly evident in early 2024. Axiotis expressed optimism that the event would provide a platform for global partners to forge connections with Chinese counterparts, thereby propelling their China travel businesses to new heights in the years to come.
The vibrant city of Shanghai has welcomed a surge in inbound visitors during the first four months of 2024. Statistics indicate a remarkable 205% year-on-year increase, with nearly 1.9 million visitors gracing the city. This surge underscores the growing appeal of Shanghai as a captivating destination and bodes well for the future of the travel industry in China.
