Missing Woman in Edmonton: Police Seek Public’s Help
The Edmonton Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance in locating Maggie Oerlemans, a 43-year-old mother of four who has been missing since July 2022.
According to her family, Oerlemans was last seen in July 2022. She is described as having brown hair, usually wears dark, fitted clothing, and black sunglasses. Her ears are pierced all the way up and she has a dragon tattoo on her right shin.
The last known location of Oerlemans was her north Edmonton apartment building, Astoria Greens. However, by the time police were notified of her disappearance, her unit had been cleared out and her belongings disposed of.
Police have been able to track Oerlemans’ phone activity and have determined that one of her last phone calls was to her boyfriend, Stephen Kashman, around 5 a.m. However, Kashman was in custody at the time of the call and has since passed away.
Investigators believe that Kashman may have shared information about Oerlemans with friends or acquaintances, and they are urging anyone who had conversations with Kashman after his release from custody in July 2022 to contact police.
Police are also looking for information about a missing vehicle that Oerlemans had access to: a 2007 black Mazda 6S with Alberta plate CDP-1006.
Anyone with information about Oerlemans’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
Oerlemans’ family is desperate for answers and is holding out hope that she is still alive. Her daughter, Cailtin Korobko, said, “If she is alive, I pray that God will guide her home.”
Anyone who has information about Oerlemans is urged to contact the Edmonton Police Service or Crime Stoppers immediately.
