Fire at Hastings Biker Gang Clubhouse Under Investigation by OPP and Ontario Fire Marshal

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) are investigating a fire that occurred early Thursday morning at a biker gang clubhouse in the village of Hastings, located southeast of Peterborough. According to the Northumberland OPP, the Trent Hills Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Bridge Street South in Hastings just before 1 a.m. Fire crews were already on the scene when officers arrived, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The building has a history of association with motorcycle clubs and gangs. Although the OPP released a photo to the media, signage on the building was intentionally blurred out, and no mention of a motorcycle club was made in the accompanying press release. However, Global News obtained scene photos clearly displaying “Rock Machine MC” and “Enter with Respect” signage on the front of the building. Additionally, Google Street View imagery captured in November 2023 shows the building bearing “Rebels Canada” signage. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The OPP and the OFM are continuing their investigation, and the scene remains under police control. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, their local police department, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or stopcrimehere.ca.
