India will face Bangladesh in their first and only warm-up match before the start of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The match will be played at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York, starting at 8pm IST (10am local time). It will be the last warm-up match for both teams ahead of the tournament, which begins on Sunday with co-hosts USA facing Canada. India’s first match in the tournament will be against Ireland on June 5 in New York, while Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in their first match on June 8 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
Former India captain Virat Kohli, who arrived in New York on Friday, may not participate in the warm-up game. Kohli has already amassed 741 runs in 15 IPL games this season, indicating that he does not require additional match practice. The team management understands that Kohli knows his game and routines well, despite missing three training sessions.
In an optional training session on Friday morning, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Mohammed Siraj practiced under the guidance of the support staff.
