Mastercard, the official sponsor of the CONMEBOL Copa América since 1994, has unveiled its newest video, “Giving Back,” featuring Lionel Messi, the Argentinian football legend and brand ambassador. Inspired by a true story, the video showcases Messi attempting to use his Mastercard at various small businesses, only to be met with store owners who refuse his payment as a gesture of gratitude and respect for all he has done for football fans.
“Mastercard and I share a belief in the importance of bringing people closer to their passions and connecting them to what brings them joy, because that’s priceless,” Messi says. “Just like in this campaign, we are always seeking ways to give back the support we receive.”
Mastercard plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless and reliable experiences for fans throughout the CONMEBOL Copa América, fostering a more connected community. All 14 hosting stadiums will be entirely contactless and cashless, allowing fans to return to the game quicker and making their payments more secure.
