Jordan Peele, the acclaimed director behind the socially charged horror films ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us,’ has finally revealed the release date for his next directorial venture. In a tweet, Peele shared a picture with the date “10-23-26,” confirming that his upcoming movie will debut on October 23, 2026.
While plot details remain shrouded in secrecy, the announcement has ignited excitement among fans eagerly awaiting Peele’s next cinematic offering. This will be Peele’s fourth directorial feature, following the groundbreaking success of ‘Get Out,’ the chilling ‘Us,’ and the captivating sci-fi thriller ‘Nope.’
The film was initially slated for a December 25, 2024, release, but was pushed back due to the Hollywood work stoppages that disrupted the film industry in 2023. Universal Pictures, which has a first-look deal with Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions, is set to distribute the movie.
Peele has consistently demonstrated his ability to blend genres, crafting films that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. His previous works have tackled themes of race, class, and societal anxieties, garnering critical acclaim and box office success. ‘Get Out,’ in particular, became a cultural phenomenon, grossing over $255 million on a budget of just $4.5 million. Peele’s talent was recognized with an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film.
While ‘Us’ received slightly less critical acclaim than ‘Get Out,’ it still performed exceptionally well at the box office, grossing over $256 million with a budget of $20 million. ‘Nope,’ released in 2022, explored the theme of UFOs in California and garnered positive reviews for its sci-fi premise and Peele’s masterful direction, ultimately grossing over $172 million.
Beyond directing, Peele remains actively involved in the film industry as a producer through his Monkeypaw Productions company. His producing credits include the acclaimed ‘BlacKkKlansman,’ the chilling reboot of ‘Candyman,’ and the upcoming ‘Monkey Man.’ Peele is also set to produce ‘Him,’ a psychological horror film about football starring Marlon Wayans, scheduled to be released on September 19, 2025.
With his consistent ability to deliver compelling and thought-provoking films, Peele’s upcoming October 2026 release is sure to generate significant buzz and anticipation. Fans are eager to see what new and unsettling themes he will explore in his latest cinematic masterpiece.
