The Arlo Pro 4 is a top-rated security camera known for its clear footage, excellent night vision, and wide viewing angle. However, if you’re encountering glitches or planning to sell your camera, you may need to perform a factory reset. This process will erase all settings and data from the device, allowing you to start fresh or transfer ownership without sharing your personal information.
Factory Resetting an Online Arlo Pro 4
To factory reset your Arlo Pro 4 while it’s online, follow these simple steps using the Arlo Secure app:
1. Open the Arlo Secure App and ensure your camera is connected.
2. Navigate to the menu within the app.
3. Select your Arlo Pro 4 camera.
4. Tap the gear icon to access settings.
5. Choose the ‘Factory Reset’ option.
6. Confirm the reset by clicking the ‘Reset’ button.
Once the reset is complete, you can reconnect your camera to the app if desired. The app will provide instructions for reconnecting. If you’re giving the camera away, there’s no need to reconnect it to your app. Note that different versions of the Arlo app may have slightly different menu names, but the overall process remains similar.
Factory Resetting an Offline Arlo Pro 4
If your Arlo Pro 4 is offline, you’ll need to use the Sync button to initiate the factory reset:
1. Remove your Arlo Pro 4 from its mounting location.
2. Locate the Sync button on the bottom of the device (it’s a small button).
3. Press and hold the Sync button for 15 seconds. The LED light should begin flashing blue.
4. Release the button. The LED light will then flash amber three times before starting the factory reset.
5. If the amber lights don’t appear after holding the button for 15 seconds, try holding it for another 15 seconds.
Once the factory reset process begins, you can use the Arlo app to complete the reset. Go to the app’s menu, select your Arlo Pro 4, and choose the ‘Factory Reset’ option. You can then decide whether to reconnect the camera to your app or leave it in factory reset mode for the new owner.
