The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated a formal investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The agency registered an FIR on Sunday, following a request from the Union Education Ministry. This action comes in response to reports of cheating, impersonation, and other malpractices that occurred during the May 5th exam.
The investigation was triggered by concerns about the integrity of the NEET-UG 2024, which saw nearly 24 lakh students vying for admission to medical colleges. The Education Ministry, recognizing the seriousness of the allegations, deemed a comprehensive investigation by the CBI necessary to ensure transparency and accountability in the examination process.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, a re-examination was held today for lakhs of students who aspire to pursue careers in the medical field. This re-examination aims to provide a fair and impartial opportunity for all students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills without the influence of any alleged irregularities.
