While the couture shows have been captivating the world, Katie Holmes was experiencing a different kind of Parisian Fashion Week. She visited the City of Light to witness Patou’s ready-to-wear collection, a presentation that prioritized ease and wearability. “I was incredibly honored and thrilled to attend the Patou show,” shared Holmes. “Being a huge fan of the brand, I was excited to meet [designer] Guillaume Henry and get a sneak peek of the collection.”
Holmes also admitted to being thrilled about spending time in Paris, saying, “Whenever I’m in Paris, I always make sure to catch up with friends who live here and enjoy the city.” Her Parisian adventure began the day before the show with a visit to Patou’s atelier. There, she met Henry and got an exclusive preview of the runway collection. “My favorite part was meeting everyone working in the ateliers and witnessing their craftsmanship,” Holmes shared. “Fashion is deeply connected to art, and having access to it in such a unique way is a gift.”
The following morning, Holmes prepared for the presentation, stepping into a look that perfectly reflected her style. Known for her love of classic denim, she opted for a dark-wash pair styled with one of Patou’s new outerwear pieces. “I chose a jacket from the new collection that has a unique double-collar design that I love,” Holmes explained. “The extended collars have such an interesting shape and the touch of red, which is my favorite color, makes the look even more special. I love how it feels easy and comfortable, and the colors of the outfit remind me of petals.”
Once she arrived at the presentation venue, Holmes was captivated by the sophisticated shirt dresses and blazers in the new collection. “I have two favorite looks: one is the denim and black blazer outfit, and the other one is the polka dot dress, one of the final pieces,” she shared. “They have a sense of frivolity and fun, while remaining grounded. They’re very elegant and have an element of strength to them.”
With summer in full swing, Holmes is eager to incorporate the latest Patou pieces into her wardrobe. “I’m excited about the pieces I saw on the runway, particularly the open-back tops and the skirts,” she enthused. “They’re perfect for the heat, and they have a sense of freedom and sensuality while also being fun and stylish.”
As her Paris Fashion Week adventure comes to a close, Holmes is returning to New York City for a busy summer. “Up next, I’ll be doing a play on Broadway called… which starts previews in September and opens in October,” she revealed. We’ll be there to see her perform.
Here’s a glimpse into Holmes’ Parisian Fashion Week:
Arriving at the Patou headquarters! Guillaume gave me the full tour of the collection’s inspiration. There were sketches, images from movies, objects, clothes, and places. I got to dive into the creative process, and it was very inspiring. I met him just 24 hours before the show, and it was such a thrill to hear all about the details being finalized for the big day.
We made our way to the atelier, where all the magic happens. It was great to witness the craftsmanship and love that went into the making of each piece.
And now, onto the most exciting part: Getting to see the finalized show pieces. Time to leave the Patou headquarters, but excited to see how everything will come to life at the show!
