Hamad International Airport (DOH) has made a significant investment in its national talent pool. Ten Qatari nationals from the ENJAZ Advanced division successfully completed a three-week training program at the Munich Airport Academy, an internationally recognized training division of Munich Airport. The program, a testament to Hamad International Airport’s commitment to developing Qatari talent, was designed to nurture and grow future leaders in the aviation industry.
The ENJAZ program, introduced in 2020, aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030 – Human Development Pillar. The training at Munich Airport Academy covered a wide range of essential topics including airport operations, management, infrastructure, safety, and security. The program was tailored to provide a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry and involved practical on-the-job experience alongside theoretical sessions.
The training program was led by subject matter experts and senior management from Munich Airport, Munich Airport Academy, and MAI, the consulting subsidiary of Munich Airport. The candidates immersed themselves in the operations and functions of an airport city, gaining insights into different airport business models and the complexities of the aviation industry.
Ahmed Essa Al Baker, Manager of National Development & Employee Engagement and leader of the ENJAZ Program at Hamad International Airport, highlighted the program’s significance, stating, “The ENJAZ program is a key pillar of the overall Hamad International Airport Talent Development Strategy, which has made a significant investment in developing Qatari talent. Through the 360-learning journey on an international scale, we are showcasing our commitment in building the capabilities of nationals, who will lead the future of the aviation industry with the right knowledge, skills and experience.”
The ENJAZ Program at Hamad International Airport consists of two divisions – ‘Essential’ and ‘Advanced’ – focusing on technical, managerial, and leadership skills. The ‘Essential’ development plan is a one-year course designed to enhance current function through functional training, knowledge sharing, and managerial foundation training. The ‘Advanced’ plan, also a one-year course, prepares candidates for senior management roles by honing their managerial and leadership skills through on-the-job training and coaching, both locally and internationally.
As the World’s Best Airport, awarded by the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards, Hamad International Airport continues to invest in upskilling its national talent pool of over 150, to keep pace with a growing and evolving industry.
