Iberia Enhances Travel Experience with New Services and Features

Iberia is introducing a range of new services and features this summer to enhance the travel experience for its customers. These improvements span digital channels, onboard amenities, premium customer benefits, and expanded destinations.

One key focus is on digital enhancements, with expanded functionalities on the Iberia website, mobile apps, and a dedicated WhatsApp channel. Passengers can now check in, obtain their boarding pass, review reservation details, and receive flight notifications through WhatsApp. Payments for additional services, such as extra luggage, will soon be available through this channel. A dedicated WhatsApp channel is also available for Iberia Plus Platinum, Infinita, and Infinita Prime customers.

Onboard dining has also been revamped, with new menus and offerings for all classes. Business Class passengers can enjoy a selection of new dishes, including octopus marinated in orange and paprika, grilled beef tenderloin, and grilled prawns. A new grapefruit mocktail, chosen by popular vote, greets Business Class passengers upon boarding. Improved wine selections and premium liquors are also available. Premium Economy passengers can choose from dishes like a salad with mayonnaise and Piquillo pepper or braised beef cheeks, while Economy class passengers can enjoy homemade meatballs in romesco sauce. New trays, sustainable dishes, Magnum ice creams, and a hot pre-landing sandwich service are also available for Premium Economy and Economy classes.

Iberia’s Gastrobar menu has been refreshed with new choices like a brioche bread sandwich with bacon and pepper jam, a vegetable sandwich, and a hazelnut cookie filled with Nutella. Passengers can now order Gastrobar items from their seat using their own devices on shorter flights. The Pre-Order menu has also been renovated, offering new products such as creamy rice risotto with mushrooms, stuffed eggplant, and an assortment of tapas. Passengers can celebrate onboard by reserving a special celebration pack, which includes cava and cake, and making payments through Google Pay and Apple Pay.

New amenity kits designed by Teresa Helbig are now available in Business and Premium Economy class on long-haul flights. These sustainable kits, made from recycled plastic bottles, include natural and vegan cosmetic products for Business Class passengers. These products are made in Spain with surplus grape harvests from Araex wines, which are also offered on Iberia flights. The packaging is made from sugar cane, and the kits are assembled by Envera, Iberia’s employee association for parents of people with disabilities.

The in-flight entertainment system now includes exclusive content from Disney+, new US releases such as “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” and “Kung Fu Panda 4”, Spanish film premieres such as “Looking for Coque”, “Little Loves” and “Perfect Strangers”, and new podcasts.

Iberia Premium Lounges at Barajas T4 have also been enhanced with digitalised services accessible through a QR code. The lounges offer new menus designed for the summer season. From July 1st to December 31st, Platinum, Infinita, and Infinita Prime customers will receive a voucher to use on their trips to the airport with Cabify.

Iberia continues to focus on Latin America, with expanding operations in 18 destinations across 16 countries. The airline’s connectivity between Europe and Latin America this year will reach a record high, exceeding 5.3 million seats, representing a growth of 16.4% compared to last year. Argentina, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico are seeing the largest increases in capacity. The United States remains a key focus, with 126 weekly flights to eight destinations: New York, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Washington DC.

Iberia has added new destinations in Europe, including Ljubljana, where flights begin on July 29th, and Tirana, a newly inaugurated route. The network of destinations has been expanded in Italy with the addition of Cagliari and Palermo, and in Portugal with flights to Ponta Delgada, Faro, and Funchal.
