Simone Inzaghi Extends Inter Milan Contract Until 2026

Simone Inzaghi has committed his future to Inter Milan, signing a one-year contract extension that will keep him as the club’s head coach until 2026. The Nerazzurri made the announcement on Friday, confirming the news with a statement that read: “With this new agreement, the coach will lead the Nerazzurri until 2026.”

Inzaghi, 48, initially took the reins at Inter in 2021, signing a two-year deal following the departure of Antonio Conte. He extended his contract for the first time last September, securing his services until 2025. Now, with this latest extension, he is set to remain at the helm for another season, taking his total tenure to five years.

During his time at Inter, Inzaghi has guided the club to remarkable success. He led them to their 20th Serie A title in the 2021-22 season, finishing a commanding 19 points ahead of their city rivals AC Milan. The Nerazzurri clinched the title with five games to spare following a 2-1 victory over AC Milan in April.

Beyond the Serie A triumph, Inzaghi has also secured three Italian Supercups, two Italian Cups, and a historic run to the Champions League final in 2023. Although Inter faced early exits from both the Champions League and Italian Cup last season, they dominated Serie A, winning 29 games, drawing seven, and suffering just two defeats, showcasing their dominance in the domestic league.

Inter’s ownership structure underwent a change in May, with US fund Oaktree taking over from Chinese group Suning, which had struggled to repay a significant debt. Despite the change in ownership, Inter’s commitment to Inzaghi remains evident, as they have rewarded him with a contract extension, solidifying his role as a key figure in the club’s continued success.
