A 59-year-old man, Ravindran Nair, was rescued from a hospital lift in Kerala, India, on Monday morning after being trapped for two days. Nair, a resident of Ulloor, had entered the lift of the OP Block of the government medical college on Saturday intending to go to the first floor. However, he claims the lift malfunctioned, descending and failing to open. Despite shouting for help and his phone being switched off, no one responded.
The incident came to light on Monday morning when the lift operator started the lift for routine work. Nair’s family had filed a missing person report with the medical college police on Sunday night. Authorities confirmed that Nair had visited the hospital for a medical checkup prior to the incident.
