Punjab FC Retains Five Key Players for Upcoming Season

Punjab FC has made a significant move towards bolstering their squad for the upcoming 2024-25 season by retaining five key Indian players. The club has announced the signing of multiple-year contracts with experienced defender Suresh Meitei, goalkeeper Ravi Kumar, and promising midfielders Ashis Pradhan, Ricky Shabong, and Manglenthang Kipgen.

Goalkeeper Ravi Kumar, who made 16 appearances in the previous ISL season, showcasing his abilities with 47 saves and three clean sheets, has extended his stay until May 2026. Similarly, Ashis Pradhan, who played in 17 matches last season, has also committed to Punjab FC until May 2026.

Suresh Meitei, a crucial part of the team’s defensive structure, making 14 appearances and providing one assist, has signed a two-year contract extending his stay until May 2027. Another key defender, Ricky Shabong, who featured in 10 matches last season, has also signed a two-year contract until May 2027.

The club has secured the services of young midfielder Manglenthang Kipgen, who made four appearances in the last season, for an even longer duration, signing a contract that extends until May 2028.

These retentions highlight Punjab FC’s commitment to building a strong and stable squad for the upcoming season. With these experienced and promising players on board, the club is poised to make a strong challenge in the upcoming ISL season.
