Shōgun and The Bear Dominate 2024 Emmy Nominations

The 2024 Emmy nominations were announced on Wednesday morning, with two powerhouse shows taking center stage: Shōgun and The Bear. Originally conceived as a limited series, Shōgun shifted to the drama categories following its renewal for two additional seasons in May 2024. The historical drama dominated the nominations, garnering a remarkable 25 nods, including lead actor recognition for Hiroyuki Sanada and lead actress recognition for Anna Sawai. Meanwhile, The Bear season 2 shattered records in the comedy category, amassing an impressive 23 nominations, surpassing the previous record of 22 nominations held by 30 Rock in 2009. The Bear secured a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and earned acting nods for several of its stars, including Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
