Adrien Rabiot’s time with Juventus has come to an end. The French midfielder’s contract expired on June 30th, and Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed that it will not be renewed.
Giuntoli expressed gratitude for Rabiot’s contributions during his five-year stint with the club, wishing him well in his future endeavors. Rabiot departs Juventus after winning the Serie A title in 2020 and two Italian Cups.
The 29-year-old midfielder has represented France on 48 occasions, scoring four goals. He was a runner-up at the last World Cup in Qatar and played five times at Euro 2024, where France was eliminated in the semifinals by eventual winners Spain.
Reports in the Italian media suggest that AC Milan and Real Madrid are among the teams interested in securing Rabiot’s services. It is believed that Rabiot declined a two-year contract extension offer from Juventus, which would have paid him €7.5 million ($8.2 million) per season.
Giuntoli’s comments about Rabiot’s departure were made during Thiago Motta’s first official press conference as the new Juventus coach. Motta will lead his first Serie A match as Juve boss against promoted Como on August 19th.
