The comedy-drama film ‘Bad Newz,’ starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, has shown promising results at the box office, experiencing a strong growth in collections on its second day of release. Released on July 19, the film has raked in an estimated ₹18.05 crore net in India over the first two days, as reported by Sacnilk.com.
On its second day, the film generated approximately ₹9.75 crore, demonstrating a remarkable increase of over 17 percent compared to its opening day earnings. This positive trend indicates a promising start for the film, which is directed by Anand Tiwari and also features Neha Dhupia alongside special cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma.
The film takes a lighthearted approach to traditional rom-coms by exploring the unconventional concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, a humorous way of saying ‘two dads, one mom.’ The film is a collaborative effort, co-produced by Anand Tiwari along with Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has expressed optimism about the film’s performance, predicting a strong weekend showing. Based on the film’s strong performance in major centers and the positive feedback it has received, Adarsh anticipates that ‘Bad Newz’ could potentially earn around ₹33 crore in its opening weekend.
