Oman-Based CEO Accused of Sexual Harassment on Flight

Dinesh Kumar Sarogi, the CEO of Oman-based Vulcan Green Steel, has been charged with sexual harassment following an incident on a flight. A woman accused Sarogi of showing her adult movie clips on his mobile phone during a flight from Kolkata to Abu Dhabi.

According to India Today, the woman claimed that the 65-year-old CEO initiated a conversation with her, initially discussing hobbies and families. However, the conversation took a disturbing turn when Sarogi allegedly displayed the explicit content on his phone.

The woman recounted the harrowing experience, stating that she felt frozen in shock and fear. She described how Sarogi “whipped out his phone and earphones to show me porn!” and further alleged that he attempted to grope her. She eventually sought refuge in the washroom and reported the incident to the air staff. The woman’s X profile identifies her as the co-chair of the India Conference at Harvard.

Sarogi has been charged under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, India’s penal code, for his alleged actions. The incident has sparked outrage and highlights the ongoing issue of sexual harassment in various settings, including public transportation. This case is currently under investigation and further updates are expected.
