NEET UG Counseling 2024 Begins Today: MCC to Release Schedule and Notification

The NEET UG counselling session for 2024 is scheduled to commence today, July 24th. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release a comprehensive notification and detailed schedule on its official website, mcc.nic.in. This development follows the Supreme Court’s refusal to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam on July 23rd. Subsequent to the top court’s decision, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the final results of the medical entrance exam would be declared within two days.

The Supreme Court’s verdict was based on the conclusion of an IIT Delhi expert panel that the ‘ambiguous’ question in the exam had only one correct answer. Initially, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had awarded four marks to candidates who provided one of the two ‘correct’ answers, which the apex court has now deemed incorrect.

The MCC NEET counseling process manages 15% of the seats under the All India Quota. It also encompasses seats in esteemed central universities such as Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, the University of Delhi, and the Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia. Additionally, it covers seats in colleges under the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune.

Aspiring medical students who wish to participate in the NEET UG counseling must have the following documents ready:

* NEET UG admit card
* NEET UG scorecard
* Aadhaar or PAN card
* Original and attested copies of Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
* Six to eight passport-sized photographs
* Caste certificate (if applicable)

Candidates are advised to visit the official MCC website regularly for updates on the counseling schedule, important dates, and other relevant information.
