Mumbai’s local train network experienced significant delays on Wednesday due to technical issues on key routes. According to Central Railway’s statement, a technical snag between Matunga and Sion stations resulted in a 15-minute delay for several trains. The situation worsened when an overhead wire issue caused delays of nearly 35 minutes for some trains. This issue also forced the diversion of trains onto other routes, further contributing to delays. Central Railway confirmed that a local train in the Up direction was stranded for approximately 35 minutes between 7:45 am and 8:20 am due to the overhead wire issue. The subsequent diversion of trains onto the slow line resulted in delays of around 15 minutes for all local trains. Commuters faced disruptions throughout the day as a result of these technical problems. As of now, the issue has been resolved and local train services are operating as usual.
