Schools and Colleges in Muzaffarnagar Closed for Kanwar Yatra 2024

In anticipation of the Kanwar Yatra 2024, all schools and colleges in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, will remain closed from July 26 to August 2, according to an official order issued by District Magistrate Arvind Mallapa. The directive encompasses all educational institutions, including primary, upper primary, secondary, CBSE, ICSE board-recognized schools, madrasas, degree colleges, DIET, and technical institutes. This eight-day closure aims to facilitate the movement of the large number of devotees participating in the pilgrimage.

To ensure the safety of students during the Kanwar Yatra, similar measures have been implemented in other districts. Varanasi, Indore, and Ujjain have adopted a weekly school closure schedule, with classes held on Sundays and Mondays designated as holiday days throughout the Kanwar Yatra season.

The Kanwar Yatra, a Hindu pilgrimage, is scheduled to take place from July 22 to August 6, 2024. While Delhi police have released a traffic advisory for the yatra, no announcement regarding school closures in the national capital has been made.
