Nothing, the smartphone company led by CEO Carl Pei, is set to unveil its latest offering, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, next week. In true Nothing fashion, the company has been gradually revealing details about the new phone leading up to its release. The latest teaser, shared on X (formerly Twitter), unveils the chipset that will power the Nothing Phone 2a Plus: the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro. This new processor, making its exclusive worldwide debut with the Phone 2a Plus, boasts impressive performance capabilities. It clocks speeds up to 3GHz, resulting in a 10% speed increase compared to the Nothing Phone 2a. The Nothing Phone 2a Plus also features a new Mali-G610 MC4 GPU, capable of running up to 1.3GHz. This translates to a significant boost in graphics processing, making the Phone 2a Plus a formidable gaming device. While Nothing has declared the Dimensity 7350 Pro as a “world exclusive” for the Phone 2a Plus, it’s important to note that the standard MediaTek Dimensity 7350 will be available in other devices later on. The “Pro” version, however, remains exclusive to Nothing thanks to a partnership that resulted in a customized chip. This isn’t the first time Nothing has collaborated with MediaTek to develop custom chips. The Nothing Phone 2a, the first Nothing phone to utilize a MediaTek processor, featured a customized Dimensity 7200 Pro. Additional information about the Nothing Phone 2a Plus has been revealed, including its impressive 12GB RAM and the ability to boost RAM up to 8GB by leveraging free storage space. However, the specifics beyond these features remain shrouded in mystery. The first teaser image showcased grooves resembling the charging coil on the Nothing Phone 2, leaving further details about the Phone 2a Plus’s design to our imagination. Nothing is set to officially launch the Nothing Phone 2a Plus on July 31. We hope to see a wider release for this device, as the Nothing Phone 2a remains unavailable in many markets, including the United States.
