A horrific incident unfolded in Bengaluru this week as a 24-year-old woman was brutally murdered inside her PG accommodation. CCTV footage captured the chilling moment the accused entered the building, knocked on the victim’s door, and launched a violent attack. The incident occurred around 11:10 pm, with the victim’s screams for help falling on deaf ears.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed that the case has been taken up and an investigation is underway. Three teams have been formed to track down the culprit, and the police are confident of apprehending the accused soon.
The victim, identified as Kriti Kumari, hailed from Bihar and had recently moved into the building in Koramangala. She was employed by a private company in the city. Police are meticulously examining her mobile phone and call records to uncover any crucial details that could lead them to the perpetrator.
According to police reports, Kriti had moved into the PG just two days prior to the incident, initially sharing the space with a female colleague. Investigations revealed that the assailant might be a school classmate of Kriti’s former roommate.
A Hindustan Times report, citing CCTV footage, revealed that Kriti returned to her PG shortly after 11 pm with a man, believed to be the assailant. The man, who was an acquaintance of Kriti, was seen carrying luggage. He gained entry into the PG after Kriti informed security that he was her brother and would leave shortly.
Police suspect that an argument between the victim and the assailant inside her room escalated into a violent attack.
The possibility of a romantic angle to the crime is also being explored, with authorities investigating if there was a romantic relationship between Kriti and the assailant.
With investigations ongoing, the police are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure that justice is served for the tragic loss of Kriti Kumari.
