India’s Shooters Miss Out on Men’s 10m Air Pistol Final at Paris Olympics

India’s hopes for a medal in the men’s 10m air pistol at the Paris Olympics were dashed on Saturday as both Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema failed to qualify for the final. Sarabjot finished in ninth place, just one spot away from the qualifying positions. He ended the qualification round with a score of 577 points after 60 shots, tying with Germany’s Robin Walter. However, Sarabjot missed out on the final due to scoring fewer inner 10s than Walter. He hit 16 inner 10s compared to Walter’s 17.

Cheema, unfortunately, had a tougher time, finishing in 18th place with a score of 574 points and 17 inner 10s. The Indian duo’s failure to reach the final marks a disappointing start for India in the shooting events at the Paris Olympics. They will now look to bounce back in the other events scheduled in the coming days.
