While the main shooting competition takes place in Paris, the event in Chateauroux, France, attracts a dedicated crowd. The relaxed atmosphere allows fans to easily approach athletes and collect memorabilia. One such fan, with a white ‘Paris 2024’ cap in hand, has been seeking signatures from Olympic medal winners. This fan, however, is no ordinary spectator. It’s none other than Kimberly Rhode, the most decorated women’s shotgun shooter in Olympic history, a six-time medalist and three-time champion. Rhode is on a mission to collect autographs from every Olympic medal winner and plans to auction the cap off to raise funds for children’s charities in the United States.
Rhode, a shooting legend, has no trouble securing the signatures she seeks. She is particularly thrilled to get Manu Bhaker’s autograph. “The goal is to get all the medal winners autographs but I’m happy to get Manu’s. I saw her shooting yesterday and I think it’s great that she’s become the first Indian woman to medal at the Olympics. It’s great for Indian shooting. I’m really proud of her and I hope she does even better,” Rhode shared.
