NEET UG Counseling 2024: Registration Begins First Week of August

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has announced that the counseling process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 will commence on August 14th. Dr. B. Srinivas, the secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC), has stated that the registration process for the counseling is likely to begin in the first week of August.

The NEET UG counseling process will encompass approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats spread across 710 medical colleges nationwide. In addition to MBBS seats, the counseling will also cover 21,000 Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) seats, as well as seats for Ayush and nursing courses. Dr. Srinivas further emphasized that the MCC will conduct the counseling for the 15% all-India Quota seats, 100% seats of all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, all central university seats, and 100% deemed university seats.

The MCC has advised students to stay updated by regularly checking the official website for further announcements.

How to Apply for NEET UG Counseling 2024

To register for the NEET UG counseling process, candidates can follow these steps:

1. Visit the MCC’s official website at mcc.nic.in.
2. On the UG counseling page, locate the NEET UG counseling schedule under the “e-services/Schedule” tab.
3. Apply for online counseling.
4. Register to obtain login credentials.
5. Complete the application form.
6. Upload the required documents and finalize the payment process.
7. Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the application.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting body for NEET, announced the results of the medical entrance exam on July 26th. The announcement came after the Supreme Court dismissed several petitions alleging irregularities in the screening process. Over 24 lakh students participated in the exam this year.
