Hyundai Venue S(O)+: A Budget-Friendly SUV with Sunroof Charm

Hyundai has expanded its Venue SUV lineup with the introduction of the S(O)+ variant, arriving shortly after the launch of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Hy-CNG Duo. Priced competitively at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), the new S(O)+ variant notably introduces a much-requested feature – an electric sunroof. This addition strategically positions the variant between the existing S(O) at Rs 9.89 lakh and the SX at Rs 11.05 lakh, offering a touch of luxury without significantly impacting the price. The S(O)+ addresses a gap in the lineup, as previous models in this range lacked the popular sunroof feature. Under the hood, the Venue S(O)+ is powered by a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. For those seeking additional performance, Hyundai offers the Venue with a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, both available with a six-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine is also offered with a dual-clutch transmission. The appeal of the S(O)+ goes beyond its sunroof, as it comes equipped with a comprehensive set of features. These include LED projector headlamps with DRLs, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a digital instrument cluster. Safety remains a priority, with features like TPMS, ESC, HAC, a rear camera, and six airbags ensuring passenger well-being. Starting from Rs 7.94 lakh and extending to Rs 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hyundai Venue offers a strong contender in the SUV market, boasting one of the most feature-packed and budget-friendly options available. It directly competes with popular rivals like the Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Nissan Magnite, making it a compelling choice for Indian SUV enthusiasts.
