Himachal Pradesh Cloudburst: 53 Missing, 6 Bodies Found

A cloudburst in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh has caused widespread destruction and left 53 people missing. As of August 3, six bodies have been recovered from the flash flood that ravaged villages in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla regions. According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the cloudburst struck the Samej area of Shimla district, Rampur region, Baghipul area of Kullu, and Paddar area of Mandi, causing significant damage.

DDMA Special Secretary DC Rana reported that 53 people are currently unaccounted for, while six bodies have been recovered. Rescue efforts are underway to locate the missing individuals and assess the full extent of the devastation. The incident highlights the vulnerability of the region to sudden weather events and underscores the importance of preparedness and timely response in disaster situations.
