The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has unveiled stunning images of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) being built in Bengaluru. The new, state-of-the-art facility is nearing completion and promises to provide both current and future generations of cricketers with the best possible platform to hone their skills.
The new NCA, equipped with world-class facilities, boasts three top-tier playing grounds, a multitude of outdoor and indoor pitches, and exceptional aquatic training and recovery programs. As Shah shared on X, “Very excited to announce that the @BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru. The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities.”
Back in February 2022, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Shah announced plans for a new NCA to be constructed near the Bengaluru airport. This new facility acts as an extension of the existing NCA, also located in Bengaluru and headed by former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman. The current NCA, established in 2000, resides near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and serves as a rehabilitation center for injured players.
The BCCI is also actively working on establishing NCAs in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the North East region, further expanding its cricketing infrastructure across India.
