South Africa asserted their dominance on Day 2 of the first Test against the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval, reaching a commanding score of 344-8 at stumps. The day belonged to Temba Bavuma and Tony de Zorzi, who led the charge with impressive performances.

Kyle Verreynne also played a significant role, contributing 39 runs to the total. His efforts were complemented by Wiaan Mulder’s unbeaten 37, which further solidified South Africa’s position.

The West Indies bowling attack faced a challenging task against the South African batsmen. Jomel Warrican, the left-arm spinner, emerged as the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-66 in his 20 overs. Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales, the fast bowlers, chipped in with two wickets apiece, but they were unable to stem the flow of runs.
