Chelsea Signs Portuguese Winger Pedro Neto from Wolves

Chelsea has strengthened their squad with the signing of Portuguese winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 24-year-old joins the West London club on a seven-year contract, marking a significant addition to their attacking options. While neither club has officially disclosed the transfer fee, British media reports suggest that Chelsea paid a substantial £54 million, including add-ons, for the talented winger.

Neto’s arrival comes after a successful stint at Wolves, where he made 135 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 24 assists. He joined the club from Portuguese side Braga in 2019 and also had a loan spell at Serie A club Lazio during his time in England. Neto’s performances earned him recognition on the international stage, securing 10 caps for Portugal and featuring in all three of their group-stage matches at the European Championship in Germany.

The winger expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, stating, “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”

Chelsea’s summer transfer window has been active, with the signing of Neto bringing the total number of new arrivals to nine. They will be looking to put their new acquisitions to the test in their Premier League opener against Manchester City on August 18.
