Tesla has made significant changes to its Cybertruck pricing, raising costs and discontinuing orders for the base model. Originally advertised at $39,000, the base Cybertruck was eventually priced at $60,990 when deliveries began in November 2023. However, over the weekend, Tesla stopped accepting orders for this entry-level version. As a result, the cheapest available Cybertruck is now the mid-tier dual-motor AWD model, priced at $99,990, representing a $20,000 increase. The top-of-the-line tri-motor Cyberbeast has also seen a $20,000 price hike, moving from $99,990 to $119,990.
Despite the price adjustments, Tesla is accelerating deliveries. Customers who order the mid-tier Cybertruck can expect to receive their vehicles this month, while the top-tier model is slated for an October delivery. Individuals who previously placed orders for the base model at $60,990 can anticipate receiving their Cybertrucks sometime next year.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously announced that the company had received over a million Cybertruck orders. However, since its initial rollout, the Cybertruck has faced several production hurdles. These include a faulty windshield wiper motor that occasionally caused the single wiper to malfunction, a loose accelerator pedal cover that could lead to unintended acceleration, and a plastic trim piece along the truck’s bed that posed a risk of detaching and becoming a hazard. All of these issues have been addressed through recalls.
