Indian Wrestler Aman Sehrawat Welcomed Home with Bronze Medal Glory

Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat was met with a hero’s welcome at Delhi Airport on Tuesday, following his triumphant bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics. Competing in his first Olympic Games, Sehrawat showcased his skills and determination, securing the bronze medal with a dominant 13-5 victory over Darian Cruz of Puerto Rico.

The atmosphere at Terminal 3 was electric as a large crowd gathered to celebrate the 21-year-old athlete’s achievement. The Indian Hockey Team, also returning from Paris with their own bronze medal, shared in the celebratory mood. India finished the Olympics with a total of 71 medals, placing 71st on the overall medal tally. The United States topped the list with a remarkable 126 medals.

Speaking to ANI, Sehrawat expressed his overwhelming joy and disbelief at achieving this incredible feat. “I am very happy and I still can’t believe that I have won a medal for the country at the Olympics… I was hoping for the gold but I am happy with bronze as well,” he shared.

Sehrawat also described the emotional experience of standing on the Olympic podium. “It was a speechless moment when I stood on the podium… from today, my next target will be to prepare for the 2028 Olympics and 2026 Asian Games,” he added. The young wrestler has set his sights high, aiming to continue his success in future competitions including the 2026 Asian Games and the 2028 Olympics.
