Buddy Bears Bring Global Unity to Berlin Brandenburg Airport

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has become a vibrant hub of global unity with the arrival of the “United Buddy Bears – THE MINIS” exhibition. For the next two months, travelers and visitors will be greeted by 100 cheerful Buddy Bears, each representing a different country from around the world. These colorful bears, standing proudly on the arrivals level of Terminal 1, offer a delightful spectacle for those passing through the airport.

Each Buddy Bear is more than just a symbol of its nation; it embodies the people and cultures it represents, transcending political boundaries. These miniature ambassadors of peace stand one meter tall and were meticulously crafted by an artist from their respective countries. The bears are arranged across four distinct areas, standing “hand in hand” on small pedestals, visually expressing a shared vision of global peace and harmony.

Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, highlighted the significance of the exhibition, stating, “Berlin Brandenburg Airport is an ideal location for the peace-loving Buddy Bears. Thousands of travellers the world over meet here every day. Diversity and cosmopolitanism is the order of the day at BER. We look forward to welcoming many visitors to the exhibition and wish our travellers lots of fun discovering the United Buddy Bears – THE MINIS.”

Dr Klaus Herlitz, Managing Director of Buddy Bear Berlin, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It is a great pleasure for us to present the United Buddy Bears – THE MINIS at BER Airport. These little ambassadors of tolerance and peace remind us how important it is to come together across cultural borders and work together for a better world.”

The “United Buddy Bears – THE MINIS” exhibition is not a new concept. These miniature ambassadors of peace have captivated visitors at over 20 locations worldwide since their debut in Berlin in 2004. Travelers at BER can bring home a piece of this iconic display by purchasing Buddy Bears in various sizes. These souvenirs are available at The Wall Store Berlin in the public area of Terminal 1, as well as the MuseumsShop and myBerlin shop located within the Terminal 1 security area.
