Indian Accent Celebrates 15 Years with Nostalgic 2009 Tasting Menu

Indian Accent, the esteemed New Delhi restaurant, is commemorating a significant milestone – its 15th anniversary. This celebration underscores the restaurant’s remarkable journey in revolutionizing Indian gastronomy and promoting it on a global stage. To mark this occasion, Indian Accent is taking diners on a trip down memory lane with a special tasting menu featuring iconic dishes from its 2009 debut.

Executive Chef Shantanu Mehrotra, who has been instrumental in shaping Indian Accent since its inception, reminisces about the restaurant’s humble beginnings in 2009. He recalls the initial challenges and early triumphs that paved the way for the restaurant’s illustrious history.

This celebratory tasting menu, available from August 15th to 31st at both the New Delhi and Mumbai locations, offers a delightful culinary experience for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Diners can savor a six-course meal featuring popular favorites and signature dishes that have become classics over the years.

The culinary journey begins with a selection of tempting snacks, including whole wheat and semolina puchkas served with three different waters, paneer tikka chaat, and khakra mille feuille with bell pepper mayo or chicken tikka chaat for meat lovers. The menu also features panko crusted stuffed peppers with goat cheese mousse and tangy mango chutney, smoked duck shaami with crispy vermicelli and barberry chutney. For fish enthusiasts, there’s tandoori Scottish salmon with dill and Greek yogurt, or a vegetarian alternative of peanut butter beetroot tikki with caper wasabi chutney.

For the main course, vegetarians can enjoy masala morels with water chestnut, asparagus, and paper roast dosai or paneer lasagna with smoked eggplant and goji berry makhni. Meat eaters can savor garlic and whole spice roast chicken with a salad raj kachori side or rice crusted john dory moilee with local greens and pine nut poriyal.

To end on a sweet note, the dessert selection includes a trio of delectable treats: kinnaur apple and shakarpara crumble with homemade vanilla bean ice cream, coconut and jaggery brulee, ruby grapefruit pops, and the whimsical amarula ki chuski.

This special offer is made even more enticing with a partnership with Amex, allowing American Express members to enjoy the 2009 menu prices at lunch. So, join Chef Shantanu Mehrotra in New Delhi and Chef Rijul Gulati in Mumbai as they embark on this nostalgic culinary journey, celebrating the legacy of Indian Accent and its pioneering role in contemporary Indian cuisine.
