UGC NET June 2024 Exam Rescheduled Due to Janmashtami

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a reschedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 session. The exams for seven subjects, originally scheduled for August 26, 2024, have been moved to August 27, 2024, due to the observance of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.

The NTA’s notification states that the exams originally scheduled for August 26 will now be held on August 27. All other aspects of the exam schedule, as announced on August 2, remain unchanged.

The seven subjects affected by the reschedule are:

* Philosophy
* Hindi
* Oriya
* Nepali
* Manipuri
* Assamese
* Santali

The UGC NET exam will be conducted in two shifts:

* Shift 1: 9 AM to 12 noon (Philosophy and Hindi)
* Shift 2: 3 PM to 6 PM (Oriya, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, and Santali)

The NTA is expected to release admit cards two to three days prior to the exam. Candidates can access their admit cards using their application number and date of birth.

The UGC NET June 2024 exam follows a two-paper pattern:

* Paper 1: General Aptitude
* Paper 2: Subject Specific

The exam duration for both papers combined is three hours. Both papers consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Paper 1 comprises 50 questions, and Paper 2 has 100 questions. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

The NTA is scheduled to conduct the UGC–NET June 2024 Exam in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for 83 subjects across various cities in India between August 21 and September 4, 2024.

It’s worth noting that the UGC NET June 2024 exam was initially conducted on June 18 in pen and paper format. However, the exam was later canceled due to concerns about potential breaches in exam integrity. Following an investigation, it was concluded that the exam papers were not leaked.
