Uttar Pradesh Prepares for Mahakumbh 2025 with Extensive Guide Training

Uttar Pradesh is pulling out all the stops to ensure a memorable experience for visitors attending the Mahakumbh 2025, the world’s largest spiritual and religious festival. The Department of Tourism and Culture is currently training a staggering 4,000 tourist guides to enhance the hospitality and service offered to both domestic and international attendees.

Jaiveer Singh, the Tourism and Culture Minister of Uttar Pradesh, announced on Monday that comprehensive plans are in place to make Mahakumbh 2025 a truly exceptional event. The training program for tourist guides is a key part of these plans, aiming to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to provide exemplary service. The initial session of the five-day training program commenced on August 12th at Hotel Ilavart in Prayagraj, with each group comprising 60 participants. To be eligible, individuals must be between 18 and 60 years old and have at least completed their secondary education.

Beyond the tourist guides, other essential personnel are also receiving training to ensure a smooth and efficient Mahakumbh experience. This includes one-day training sessions for boatmen, taxi drivers, and other service providers organized by the Kanshiram Tourism Institute in Lucknow. All trained personnel will be compensated with an honorarium for their contributions to the festival.

The Mahakumbh is anticipated to draw a massive crowd of over 40 crore visitors, requiring extensive accommodation arrangements. To accommodate this influx, the state is preparing a range of options, including tent cities, homestays, and hotels. The festival is scheduled to commence in January 2025, leaving ample time to finalize all preparations and ensure a seamless experience for attendees.

Individuals interested in joining the tourist guide training program can apply through the Uttar Pradesh Department of Tourism and Culture. This proactive approach to training and preparation highlights the state’s commitment to making Mahakumbh 2025 a resounding success. The event promises to be a grand celebration of spirituality, culture, and religious faith, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe.
