Trip.com Group Launches Asia Live Streaming Centre in Bangkok, Boosting Tourism with Interactive Content

Trip.com Group, a leading global travel service provider, has taken a significant step in its content marketing strategy by launching its Asia Live Streaming Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The centre, inaugurated with the presence of representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and key business partners, aims to deliver daily livestreams showcasing the diverse and captivating tourism offerings of the country.

This move represents a substantial advancement in the Group’s efforts to provide travelers with engaging and inspiring content, including exclusive deals and promotions. By leveraging the power of livestreaming, Trip.com aims to transform the way partners and consumers interact, driving growth within the tourism sector.

“We are thrilled to have the Tourism Authority of Thailand and our business partners join us for this milestone,” said Bo Sun, Chief Marketing Officer of Trip.com Group. “This new livestreaming centre will capitalise on Thailand’s active social media community and its status as a premier travel destination in the region. We believe this initiative has the potential to elevate travel in Asia to new heights, connecting with passionate travelers through the engaging medium of livestreaming.”

Initially, the Asia Live Streaming Centre will focus on broadcasting daily content in Thai across Trip.com Thailand’s social media platforms. However, plans are in place to expand the content to English for international audiences, further amplifying the reach of the initiative.

The Group is committed to collaborating with hotels, local attractions, and businesses throughout Thailand to showcase a wide array of travel products and deals during these livestreams. This includes highlighting high-quality offerings featured on Trip.Best, a platform that helps travelers worldwide discover the best experiences each destination has to offer.

The livestreaming content will not only enhance visibility for business partners but also provide additional sales channels, complementing the Group’s existing marketing strategies. These include mega sales campaigns, exclusive partnerships with Thai social influencers, and food tourism campaigns – a comprehensive, one-stop marketing solution.

Exciting promotions for Trip.com’s double-digit mega sales campaigns, such as those scheduled for September 9th, November 11th, and beyond, will be highlighted in the livestreams. The Group also plans to extend this livestream content to its Trip.com websites across Southeast Asia, with rollouts expected in the first quarter of 2025.

With a long-term vision, the Group aims to expand this livestreaming initiative to other markets where the format continues to gain popularity. The strategic launch of this new livestreaming hub in Thailand capitalizes on the country’s well-established livestreaming ecosystem and diverse travel offerings, solidifying Trip.com Group’s leadership in tourism-focused livestreaming.

In 2023, the “Super World Trip” livestream series launched in Thailand, successfully selling over 20,000 hotel room nights. Subsequent livestreams in Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, and Hong Kong also generated significant inbound travel demand. This effort forms part of the Group’s BOSS Live Series, spearheaded by Trip.com Group co-founder and Executive Chairman James Liang in 2020 to support the travel industry. This initiative has not only pioneered marketing in the tourism sector but has also instilled renewed confidence and optimism for a post-pandemic travel rebound.
