Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, has once again claimed the top spot for on-time performance (OTP) globally, marking its second consecutive month in the lead. This achievement, according to the July 2024 report by independent aviation tracking site Cirium, highlights Saudia’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
The report reveals that Saudia achieved a remarkable on-time arrival rate of 88.12% and an equally impressive on-time departure rate of 88.15%. This outstanding performance was achieved across a vast network of over 100 destinations spanning four continents, encompassing a total of 16,503 flights operated by the airline.
His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, expressed his pride in this accomplishment, stating: “At Saudia Group, achieving a high OTP has been a shared objective, as it directly impacts guest satisfaction. We’ve successfully maintained it during this year’s peak seasons, a testament to the collaborative efforts of the entire Saudia Group and relevant stakeholders in the aviation industry. Sustaining our leadership in this area requires continuous dedication and resilience in overcoming the numerous challenges within the aviation sector globally.”
Looking ahead, Saudia is poised for continued growth and expansion. The airline is set to receive a significant fleet upgrade, incorporating 103 new aircraft over the coming years. This strategic move will enable Saudia to double its seating capacity, open up new global destinations, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position on the international aviation map. This ambitious expansion plan is firmly aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, aiming to enhance global connectivity and position Saudi Arabia as a major player in the global travel and tourism landscape. By seamlessly connecting the world to Saudi Arabia, Saudia plays a crucial role in driving economic growth and unlocking the Kingdom’s potential as a global hub for travel and commerce.
