Woman Deplaned at Pune Airport for Assaulting Passengers and CISF Constable

A chaotic scene unfolded at Pune’s Lohegaon airport on Saturday when a woman was deplaned for allegedly assaulting two passengers and a CISF constable during the boarding process. According to reports, the woman, who was traveling with her husband, became increasingly aggressive and violent, causing a disruption that ultimately led to her removal from the flight.

The incident began when the woman allegedly attacked a brother and sister who were seated in their assigned seats. The altercation caught the attention of the flight crew, who intervened and called upon two CISF constables, Priyanka Reddy and Sonika Pal, to assist in de-escalating the situation.

However, the situation worsened as the woman’s anger escalated. She allegedly slapped and bit constable Priyanka Reddy, prompting the constables to restrain her and escort her and her husband off the flight.

The airport police were then notified, and a case was registered against the woman. Despite the incident, she was released after being given a notice to comply with the investigation. The airline staff, CISF personnel, and the assaulted passengers are expected to provide statements.

A CISF officer revealed that the woman was reportedly in a state of extreme distress due to a personal emergency. The officer further stated that the pilot, witnessing the altercation and concerned about the safety of the passengers, refused to fly with the woman. This prompted the airline to seek assistance from the CISF, as the woman’s aggression continued to escalate.

While the woman has not commented on the situation, it has been reported that she is a homemaker, and her husband is a software engineer. They were reportedly traveling to Delhi to attend a funeral. The incident highlights the importance of addressing passenger behavior and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved in air travel.
