CenterPoint Energy Seeks Proposals for New Generation Technologies in Indiana

CenterPoint Energy Indiana South, the Indiana-based electric utility business of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CNP), has announced an All-Source Request for Proposals (RFP) to address the evolving energy demands of its 150,000 electric customers in southwestern Indiana. This initiative marks a crucial step in CenterPoint’s commitment to diversifying its energy portfolio and ensuring the continued delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective service to its customers.

Shane Bradford, CenterPoint’s Vice President, Indiana Electric, highlighted the importance of the RFP in the company’s transition towards a more sustainable and diverse energy generation landscape. He stated, “As we continue to transition our electric generation resources, we are focused on diversifying our energy portfolio to help us continue delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective service to our customers.”

The RFP invites proposals for generation technologies capable of providing fully accredited capacity by March 1, 2028. CenterPoint encourages respondents to submit proposals encompassing a wide range of technologies, including utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects (both standalone and paired), thermal generation, load-modifying resources, demand-side resources, and other innovative solutions.
