Bella Hadid, the renowned model and brand founder, recently unveiled her fourth fragrance, ‘Nightcap’, as part of her Orebella collection. This scent holds a special place in her heart, being the first fragrance she ever created.
Hadid describes each of her Orebella fragrances as ‘pieces of her soul’, and ‘Nightcap’ is a poignant reflection of her life before achieving global fashion fame. The fragrance pays homage to the nostalgic vanilla scent that permeated high school locker rooms, a scent she describes as both overwhelming and deliciously sweet. The vanilla base is enhanced by notes of ginger and cardamom, adding a touch of spice and creating a pastry-like, almost cocktail-like aroma.
Hadid, a well-known equestrian enthusiast, also drew inspiration from her teenage years spent show jumping with her beloved horse, Nightcap. While the fragrance itself doesn’t directly incorporate equestrian notes, it embodies the strength and confidence she felt during that time.
‘It’s about being strong but sweet,’ Hadid explains. ‘I learned that from Nightcap, and the love I had for riding and the animal. But I also learned that from school, all of the trials and tribulations of it.’ ‘Nightcap’ embodies the spirit of youthful resilience and the sweet memories of a time when she was finding her own strength and self-assurance.
