The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced the re-test for the Police Constable Recruitment exam 2024, scheduled to take place from August 23. Nearly 48 lakh aspirants will be vying for 60,244 posts in this highly competitive examination.
The original exam, held in February 2024, was cancelled due to a widespread paper leak. This incident prompted swift action from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who ordered a fresh examination to be conducted within six months to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process. He expressed zero tolerance for those who compromise the sanctity of exams, vowing strict action against those involved in the paper leak.
The re-exam is planned to take place over two separate periods: August 23-25 and August 30-31. The examination will be held in two shifts each day, with around 5 lakh candidates appearing in each shift. A total of 1,174 examination centers across 67 districts have been designated for the re-test. The UPPRPB board has thoughtfully scheduled the exam dates to avoid the national holiday of Janmashtami on August 26.
Candidates who wish to avail the bus services provided by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will need to present their admit cards to the bus conductor. They are also required to download two additional copies of their admit card: one for travel to the examination center district and another for travel back to their home district after the exam.
The selection process for the Police Constable posts will involve a written exam, physical test, document verification, and medical examination. Only those who clear the written exam will be eligible to proceed to the subsequent stages of the recruitment process. This re-exam presents a fresh opportunity for aspiring police officers in Uttar Pradesh to demonstrate their abilities and pursue their career goals in the state’s law enforcement agency.
