Indian Women Dominate Under-17 World Wrestling Championships

India’s young wrestling stars shone brightly at the Under-17 World Championships in Amman, Jordan, as four women secured gold medals, demonstrating their exceptional talent and prowess on the international stage.

Aditi Kumari, in the 43kg category, showcased her dominance against Maria Louiza Gkika of Greece. Her strategic moves and impressive technique resulted in a convincing 7-0 victory, securing the gold medal for India.

Neha, competing in the 57kg category, faced Japan’s So Tsuitsui in the final. Her double-leg attacks proved to be a formidable force, leaving her opponent with little opportunity to mount a challenge. Neha’s control over the match was evident, resulting in a well-deserved gold medal win.

Pulkit, in the 65kg category, faced a tough opponent in Daria Frolova, a neutral athlete. Despite holding a commanding 5-0 lead, Pulkit conceded a pushout point and received a caution towards the end of the bout, allowing Frolova to score three points. However, Pulkit’s strong defensive skills and strategic maneuvering secured the championship title with a final score of 6-3.

Mansi Lather, in the 73kg category, faced Hanna Pirskaya. Lather displayed incredible strength and agility, quickly taking a 5-0 lead. She then skillfully pinned her opponent, ending the bout in style and securing another gold medal for India.

Adding to India’s success, Ronak Dahiya and Sainath Pardhi secured bronze medals in the Greco-Roman style, further emphasizing India’s strong presence in the world of wrestling.
