Radisson Hotel Group has solidified its presence in Saudi Arabia with the launch of the Park Inn by Radisson Makkah Thakher Alsharqi. This strategic move aligns with the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030, a plan focused on diversifying the economy through tourism development.
The new hotel, situated just 2.2 kilometers from the Grand Mosque, is a key component of the expansive Thakher City development. This mixed-use project encompasses 97 towers, a shopping mall, and a mosque, all designed to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims and tourists visiting Makkah. The Thakher City project represents a $7 billion investment and spans a vast 320,000 square meters, offering residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. Its goal is to host over 1.6 million visitors and pilgrims, further supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 target of welcoming 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually.
The Park Inn by Radisson Makkah Thakher Alsharqi itself offers 133 guest rooms and a range of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant serving international and local cuisine, as well as a cozy lobby cafe. This hotel, alongside the broader Thakher City project, represents a significant step towards enhancing both the pilgrimage and tourism experience in Makkah, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to developing its hospitality sector.
