Juventus has bolstered its squad ahead of the new season with the signing of Argentine winger Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina. The deal, announced on Sunday, sees Gonzalez join the Turin giants on a season-long loan for €8 million with an obligation to buy for €25 million plus €5 million in potential bonuses. The transfer could ultimately reach €38 million.
The 26-year-old winger has been a key player for Fiorentina, helping them reach the Europa Conference League final in the past two seasons and win the 2023 Italian Cup. Gonzalez has also earned 39 caps for Argentina, scoring five goals and playing a crucial role in their Copa America victories in 2021 and 2022.
Gonzalez’s arrival comes as Juventus continues to revamp its squad under new manager Thiago Motta. The club has already secured the signings of Douglas Luiz and Khepren Thuram this summer and is reportedly close to finalizing a move for Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.
Juventus’s next fixture is against Verona on Monday night, with Gonzalez likely to make his debut the following weekend when they host Roma. The club is also expected to complete the signing of Francisco Conceicao from Porto on a one-season loan deal for €9 million.
Gonzalez’s arrival represents another significant step in Juventus’s rebuilding process as they aim to return to the top of Serie A and challenge for major trophies. The Argentine winger’s speed, dribbling ability, and attacking prowess will be a valuable asset for the Turin club.
